Safety and preparation in Styria
Before you set off on your adventure, you should check the current weather conditions and the avalanche report. When skiing on the slopes, pay particular attention to the mountain railway closure times so that you can ski down safely without any risk from snow groomers. At Pension Fernblick, you’ll find the comfort you need in the rooms and apartments after your tour to recharge your batteries for the next day out in the great outdoors.
Ski tour to the Krahbergzinken
The ski tour to the Krahbergzinken takes you off the groomed slopes and leads through high-alpine terrain to the striking summit cross. As the ascent takes place away from secured areas, mountaineering experience and avalanche equipment are absolutely essential. The tour begins near the Mitterhaus 8-seater chairlift. At the Krahbergsattel, you leave the piste and head right into the sparse woodland. The ascent route takes you to the north-west flank, where the final, partly steep, climb takes place. The descent follows the north-west flank and the north-facing slope down to the Mitterhausalm. From there, you can either take the Mitterhausbahn uphill or put your skins back on for the return journey.
