Things to do in Schladming

In spring, you can enjoy some lovely runs in the spring sunshine at the ski resorts in the Schladming-Dachstein region. On a trip to the Dachstein Glacier, attractions such as the Ice Palace or the Stairway to Nowhere await you. From May onwards, crocuses bloom along the 5-Hütten-Weg in Ramsau, and the streams fed by the snowmelt rush along the ‘Wilde Wasser’ themed trail. Outdoor activities in spring also include a cycle ride along the Enns Cycle Route. For a relaxing day of wellness, the water park in Schladming is just ten minutes’ drive from the Fernblick guesthouse.

In summer, hiking trails in Schladming wind their way through Swiss stone pine forests up to cosy alpine huts. On the Planai, the downhill run on the Zielhang presents a challenge, whilst the Reiteralm and Hochwurzen offer trails featuring bends and jumps. On an e-bike, you can cycle at a leisurely pace along the River Enns. For families, Mountain Go-Kart, archery and Hopsis Kinderland are among the popular summer activities in Schladming. You can use the mountain railways and swimming pools free of charge with the included Schladming-Dachstein Card. Round off the day with a barbecue in the garden of the Pension Fernblick.

In autumn, the larch forests around Rohrmoos glow golden, and the crisp air offers unobstructed views across the Enns Valley. The walking and cycling trails are less busy in the off-season. If you’re travelling with children, the mushroom nature trail in Rohrmoos is well worth a visit. At the Dachstein cattle drive and during the Game and Krapfen Weeks, you’ll experience just how much tradition an autumn holiday in Styria has to offer.

On a winter holiday in Schladming, you can set off almost right on your doorstep: the 4-Berge ski area, with 123 kilometres of slopes, begins around 300 metres from the guesthouse. Winter activities in Schladming also include ski touring, the seven-kilometre-long toboggan run on the Hochwurzen and the cross-country ski trails in Ramsau. When winter walking in Schladming, groomed paths lead you through the snow-covered landscape, whilst snowshoeing takes you into the tranquil Obertal valley.
